Chief Richard Mackey recently appointed several members of the Department to the position of Fire and Life Safety Educator. Tewksbury has had an active Student Awareness of Fire Education (S.A.F.E.) Program within the schools and community. These appointments will help to continue and expand the mission of the program by encompassing both the student and senior citizen populations within the community.
S.A.F.E. Coordinator Christian Merrill will be joined by Firefighters Richard Hamm, Thomas Murphy, Alan Rosemond, Daniel Sawicki, and Captain Albert Vasas. They will teach fire safety education and work in the Juvenile Fire Setter Program with Fire Investigator Lt. Scott Keddie.
