Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
The Town has begun to institute a
Geographic Information System. This is a collection of databases
that can be displayed graphically. It is a very powerful tool and
most cities and towns are moving in that direction already. We
currently have data for our parcels, edge of road/pavement, sewers,
driveways, fences, elevation contours, hydrology and some 2001 color
aerial photos.
At this time, we are investigating a
method to make this data available to all Town employees. In the
future, the goal is to open some of this data to residents.

Stormwater Regulations
The Engineering Department coordinates
all Stormwater compliance with State and Federal regulations. This
includes developing regulations, performing inspections and
reviewing project proposals. For more information on the Town's
Stormwater Management Plan, click

If you are wondering what is stormwater
and how do I relate to this, please click on the
Stormwater Matters Public Awareness Ad

If you happen to see any suspicious and
possible illegal dumping into our catch basins, streams and rivers,
please report the activity
here! We appreciate the community help in keeping our water
clean.
