Sandra Barbeau opened meeting at 7:30 PM at the Town Hall Auditorium with members Charles Coldwell, Joseph Gill, John Ryan, Doug Sears and Jerome Selissen present.  Town manager David Cressman, Recording Secretary Heather Tecce, and Sandra Barbeau were also present.

 

SCHEDULED AGENDA ITEMS

 

Reorganization

 

 

Motion by Mr. Coldwell to nominate Mr. Gill to the position of Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, second by Mr. Sears. Unanimous vote.

 

Motion by Mr. Ryan to nominate Mr. Selissen to the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, second by Mr. Coldwell.  Unanimous vote. 

 

Motion by Mr. Selissen to nominate Mr. Ryan to the position of Clerk of the Board of Selectmen, second by Mr. Coldwell.  Unanimous vote.

 

Mr. Gill explains this is a re-organization meeting and not much business will be conducted.  Although, Mr. Cressman has two items to discuss.

 

Town Manager

 

Mr. Cressman met with the Senior Center Building Committee March 30th.  They received revised plans from architect resulting in a $1million deduct from project.   Each 6 months the project is delayed will cost approximately $68,000.00 to avoid further the delays the Senior Center Building Committee request the Board of Selectmen open the Town Meeting Warrant to insert an article to see if the Town will borrow $315,000.00 to contract the architect and consultants over the next 6 months to have this project ready for bid this fall.

 

 Motion by Mr. Coldwell to insert above article made by Mr. Cressman, second by Mr. Sears.  Passed unanimously.

Mr. Cressman informing Board of Selectmen and Townspeople, the Special Town Meeting Warrant is 80 pages long due to size and an illness of a staff member last week it didn’t make it to the printers.  However, Mr. Cressmans, intention is to get out to the town by the public hearing.  In the interim the Special Town Meeting Warrant is going to be put on the town web site along with a notice on Channel 10.

 

The next Board of Selectman meeting April 27, 2004

 

There will be a Special Hearing with the Finance Committee April 15, 2004, on Articles 1, 2, and 3 of the Special Town Meeting.

 

Motion made by Mr. Selissen and second Mr. Sears to adjourn at 7:40 p.m. unanimously voted.
