PERMIT APPLICATIONS: Applications for all building, plumbing, gas and wiring permits may be obtained and submitted at the Building Department during regular office hours. Normally, the support staff will be able to assist in completing the required forms. Should you need specific dialog with one of the inspectors, it is always best to call ahead for an appointment.

BUILDING INSPECTIONS: Massachusetts State Building Code requires inspections to be called in 24 hours before and allows the inspector up to 72 hours to perform the inspection. However, we try to perform all building inspections  within 24 hours of call in. Be aware that staff seminars and meetings do affect timeframes and you should plan ahead.

PLUMBING INSPECTIONS: Plumber must call before 12:00 Noon of the day you want the inspection.  The inspection will be done that day before 4:00 PM. Any change in time will be noted when you call in.

WIRING INSPECTIONS: Please call the day BEFORE you want the inspection.

NOTE:  ALL INSPECTIONS MUST BE CALLED IN, DO NOT USE E-MAIL AND DO NOT LEAVE AN INSPECTION ON THE ANSWERING MACHINE.
