Sadwick restated the intent of the Land Use Study Group and the membership of 2 MP members and 3 citizens. Gill requested that the MP committee choose its representatives at this meeting. Sweet said that he would accept volunteers. Wilkie and Reed volunteered. Gill motioned to nominate Wilkie and Reed, Torname seconded, the motion was unanimously approved.
Citizen members will be solicited to apply to the Community
Development Office through the Cable channel, the town website and the newsmedia.

Analysis of the Land Use element and proposed Zoning Map
Sweet reviewed the ‘Summary of Land Use Policy Plan.’ He started the discussion on page 26, Industrial Development. After much discussion the MP committee decided to:
- ‘Do away’ with the “Highway Industrial Areas” definition.
- Accept the Office-Research Areas definition
- Add another version of the Office-Research Areas Definition which includes the use of Hotels and conference centers.
Discussion of the Land Use map began at the Lowell/ Rt 38 intersection.
This District was decided to be called the “Wamesit
Highway District” and would extend to the intersection of
The remaining Districts on Rt 38/ Main St as proposed on the Land Use map remained in the proposed locations, with the exception of the Shawsheen District, which was decided to be extended through to and just past Walgreens versus ending at Salem Rd.
The “Silver Lake District” name was considered a bit
inappropriate due to the lake being in

Research zone in the Woburn St area was decided to be changed. The area shown as Office- Research along
